About We Raise Our Hands In The Sanctuary

We Raise Our Hands In The Sanctuary is a gay friendship story set in the disco underground of the 1980s London. Written by Daniel Fulvio and Martin Moriarty, the piece combines naturalistic drama and contemporary dance to tell the story of two friends who make a pact to conquer gay clubland in an era when ambition, addiction and AIDS combine to threaten their bond.

We are extremely grateful for the support of The Albany, without whom we could not have researched and developed the first act of the show in July 2015, with a week of rehearsal that culminated in a preview and dance party in the theatre.

Thanks to the financial support of Arts Council England and a number of generous private investors, we will premiere the show at The Albany in February 2017.

And many thanks, as always, for the images by Leon Csernohlavek.
